Cooling Tower information

A cooling tower is  used in industry to cool hot water (by partial evaporation) before reusing it as a coolant. The cooling tower creates a stream of low temperature water. This water runs through a set of Fills and cools the water. It costs more to buy the system initially, but the energy savings can be significant over time (especially in areas with low humidity), so the system pays for itself fairly quickly. Cooltech cooling equipments cooling towers are equipped with energy saving options through heat sensing which reduce the energy consumption even lower, there by reducing the running costs of the cooling tower.

The amount of cooling that you get from a cooling tower depends on the relative humidity of the air and the barometric pressure. For example, the more humid climate the less temperature drop will be and vice versa. Even small temperature drops can have a significant effect on energy consumption.

Calculating Cooling Loads

Chiller and cooling tower refrigeration is calculated in tons
A chiller refrigeration ton is defined as:

1 refrigeration ton = 12,000 Btu/h = 3,025.9 kCalories/h

A cooling tower ton is defined as:

1 cooling tower ton = 15,000 Btu/h = 3,782 k Calories/h

Cooling Tower Applications

STEEL INDUSTRY: Induction Furnaces, Concast, TMT., etc.
A/C & REFRIGERATION: Central air-conditioning, package a/c, chilling plants.
PLASTIC INDUSTRY: Injection and Blow moulding m/c’s
